I have done some traveling outside of the United States but no where as culturally different as China. I have been to Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Grand Cayman, and Canada. Going to China is going to be a totally different experience than anywhere I have been before. I do not know the language. They use characters instead of letters. Looking down a street in Beijing and seeing signs for stores that I can't even understand.

I am currently a Graphic Design student at Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. With graduation right around the corner I am very excited to see how the Chinese approach graphic design. Li Xinlu is a very talented graphic design based out of Beijing.
I am very excited to have some authentic Chinese food. I may be carrying around my own fork and knife considering I totally fail at using chopsticks. I hope to become a chopstick master before the end of the trip. I also hope to see no cat on the menu considering I love cats, they are so cuddly and cute. I will just have the urge to steal all the cats in China and bring them back to America to save them from being eaten. How could you resist this cute cuddly kitten?
Just knowing that this sort of thing happens in China really breaks my heart. Like with every country there are going to be things that seem wrong to our cultural, but to them its a way of life. I'm just wondering how many people actually eat cat and how much of it is a misconception.
But despite everything I am excited to go to China and have new experiences. Only 51 days before I depart on my journey across the world to China!
